“What’s Up?” The Twitter Version

May 4, 2010 at 12:55 am (The Whim)

My husband wanted a parody of “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blonds, so I gave it to him.

Twenty – five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big hill of tweets
For a good status report
And I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of tweets
For whatever that means
And so I cry sometimes
When I’m chilling online
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I get online
And I take a deep breath and I post my life
And I scream at the top of my lungs
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?
Ooh, ooh ooh
And I try, oh my god do I try
I try all the time, in this institution
And I pray, oh my god do I pray
I pray every single day
For a revolution
And so I cry sometimes
When I’m sitting online
Just to get it all out
What’s in my head
And I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning
And I sign on quick
And I take a deep breath and get
ready to read posts and I type real fast
What’s going on?
And I say, hey hey hey hey
I said hey, what’s going on?
Twenty – five years and my life is still
Trying to get up that great big deal called the net
for more wasted time

    So, so, so, so good!

I have been totally ignoring my twitter account. That and facebook. I really don’t get it.

Do you have a music background?

I got this from friend a little while ago — “Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.” — John Lennon

Music background? It depends exactly how you define that. I was in choir all through middle school and high school, so I sang for years, was in musicals, and had to learn basic music theory. I dated and hung out with musicians in college. So I’d say music has always been a big part of my life, but I’m not sure how I’d label it. I do love some Beatles 🙂 John Lennon and Paul McCartney were pretty cool, but George was always my favorite. Have you listened to the Concert at Bangladesh? Amazing. I listen to a lot of Kansas and so on…

The You Tube video is here, if anyone doesn’t remember the tune… but, really, how could you forget?
